Bill Mitchell is board certified as an expert in labor and employment law by The Florida Bar.  Mr. Mitchell was named a Florida Super Lawyer in 2009 and as one of Tampa Bay’s Best Lawyers in 2010.  He has more than 25 years of experience handling labor and employment, pension, anti-trust, and general business cases in the Tampa Bay area.  Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Mitchell was a lawyer with the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C.  He is the author of  The Estate and Retirement Planning Answer Book and the coauthor of Employee Fringe and Welfare Benefit Plans. He is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator and is certified to mediate in federal court.

Mr. Mitchell is a past chair of the Labor & Employment Law Certification Committee of the Florida Bar.  He currently serves on the board of the Tampa Educational Cable Consortium.

Mr. Mitchell is a former submarine officer in the United States Navy.  He continues to remain active, working with current military members and veterans as a member of the Military Officers Association of America, Inc. Tampa Chapter (MOAA-Tampa).

Mr. Mitchell received his J.D. from the Boalt School of Law of the University of California at Berkley and an L.L.M. degree in tax from Georgetown University College of Law.  He also holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Washington (where he was the university’s nominee for a Rhodes Scholarship) and a M.A. in economics from the University of California at Berkley.
